Town of Springdale

I designed this, gathered the boulders, the steel and stone and poured the footings. Then I took it all the pieces to the town yard, and Joe French and Eddie Zabonic cut the stones to size. Then we set the boulder base. Then we came back and assembled the stones quickly without slowing down traffic, which was a concern. Eddie ran the excavator while Joe and Josh Hagen set the stones. l drove the truck and trailer and helped set. The real test came when we set the metal piece last and it turned out to be perfectly level. Not easy to do.

I've been busy lately mostly in Zion National Park and staying close to home.

I could retire, but where's the fun in that?
It's a great way to live and make a contribution working in cooperation with people.

Comfort Station Zion National Park

I usually don't do block work, but I did this one. Dan, Roy, Joe and I put this up and it turned out just right.

Bryce National Park

Joe , Roy and I  added pointy topped capstone to the columns and built a stone wall at inspiration point.

Zion entrance station

This was a tough project. Nasty weather and crowded job site added to problems. It looks good though.

Whitewater Dory

I got tired of bailing the rear footwell in the dory. Seems like it's always unoccupied. So I welded in a floor and some drain pipe. I used a small hatch so I can store things down there like beer or drinks or whatever. I added a piece of hose, painted it and there you are! No more bailing the back footwell! I like this so well I just might have to do the front footwell too.
